Fly the flag for children on 20 November!

Together with the Ombudsman for Children, child and family organisations encourage everyone to fly the flag for children’s rights. For several years now, the Ministry of the Interior has called upon state agencies to fly the flag and issue a general recommendation for others to do so. The University of Helsinki Almanac Office will decide on adding Universal Children’s Day to the calendar as a standard flag day.

We encourage everyone to hoist the Finnish flag on Universal Children’s Day on Monday 20 November. The more people that get involved in flagging, the more likely it is that Universal Children’s Day will become an established flag day.

Join in and ensure that information on the flag day spreads as far as possible and that the flag flies at private residences, schools, municipalities, kindergartens, parishes and other places, wherever possible.

Do as follows:

Make sure that the flag is flying.
